Free stuff

Photo

So the thought behind doing One World- One Heart (as far as I can tell) is that when you give things away, you make friends.

So I am giving away a pint of maple syrup from our very own maple trees. You will receive your prize: 1. When it becomes available, 2. If you win by leaving me a comment ON THIS POST. The winner will be announced on February 12th at which time I may or may not have the syrup ready. You may have to wait a bit, that's how sugaring works. Anyway, I digress.

Here's a picture of how your special syrup will be made.

And finally, you must tell me in 100 words or less why it is you like me so much. Or, at least something you like about my blog. You must give me a compliment. I likes me some comments that are compliments.
So. Bring on the compliments/entries.

So for One World ~ One Heart you give things away and it makes you some friends. Kind of like you give me milk and it makes us friends? And I squeeze Clara's boobies and it makes us more friends??
So if you gives me somes of that yummsie delish maple syrup (it really is yummy and delish, peoples, I haves tasted me somes of that yummy deliciousness) then we will be even better friends than the tata pulling/milk loving bond that we already have. 'Cause really everything is better when you put maple syrup on top.
The End.
Pick me.
And it's gluten free and Gracie loves it too, and really finding gluten free foods is so hard these days. {sniff sniff}

I don't know ya ... but if you make maple syrup from scratch (YUM!!!), you must be an extraordinarly patient and watchful person! :D I agree with Hanna ... everything is better when you put maple syrup on top! I would love to have my name added into your drawing! Please visit my blog to see my giveaway, too!

Now this is a giveaway I would .... for. Can't think of anything but the stupid saying I'd die for it but that wouldn't be quite up to the truth... ;) If you only knew how hard it is to get good maple syrup over here :( and blueberry pancakes just aren't the same without. I'm not actually applying for the poll (because it would probably cost a fortune and be illegal to send it to Switzerland) but I wanted to let you know that I think it's an awesome idea to give away maple syrup all the same :))
Love, Ariane

I would adore some homemade maple syrup! That was my favorite thing about visiting upstate New York when I was a child. After perusing just a few posts, I like your blog because you are great with a wry turn of a phrase, and you share your successful recipes. Two hallmarks of a great friend, someone you can dig into a scrumptious homemade meal with and talk a bit with your mouth full too.

You state on your blog hints to stop watching so much tv. I like that, as our family stopped paying for cable. Then we removed the antennae from the attic. The tv doesn't get any reception and we don't care. What are we missing? Nothing. We have other hobbies and interests and we don't sit infront of the tube like zombies. I like that more people feel the same way about the noisy tv propaganda. Count me in for some homemade syrup!

Maple syrup is my favorite. We only have birch trees up here in Alaska. We did tap the trees and make syrup, but it is not very tasty compared to Maple in my opinion. I know it takes talent to make the syrup with a lot of hardwork - so you must be very talented, especially not to scold it. Please enter me in your giveaway. I would love some fresh maple syrup. Be sure to enter my giveaway (#357) as well. Thank you from Alaska.

I would love a pint/quart of your syrup! My oldest son, years ago tried sugaring...it kept him busy one winter of his senior year in HS....it was ummmm, a wee bit over cooked shall we say...just tasted burnt or something...but he tried and we all ate the stuff to show our appreciation of his hard work! From looking at your blog, we have similar interests with homesteading and animals. Although we don't live off the land completely, we could survive here....even without power...our house is as it was a hundred years ago.....we have the newer amendeties, but kept the old just in case! One comment that might sound critical, but really it IS constructive is to watch your font color and size....I had such a hard time reading your articles! FOr example the one on raw milk that was in orange...I couldn't see it! I'm old, but not that old that my eyesight is bad....just a suggestion....I skipped the whole article....:(

wow, this is a really awesome idea for a giveaway!!

Unfortunately, since I live in Australia I think our customs department would confiscate something as wonderful as homemade maple syrup, so when I originally saw this I didn't enter. But then I thought - Wait! I know lots of people in the US who I'm sure would love a gift, from me, via you, of homemade maple syrup! So now I'm entering afterall. Hope that's ok :)

Ok here goes...brown nosing at its finest cause I likes ME some maple syrup!! ;)

You have a lovely blog. I liked seeing that you had snippets from the daily word. Makes me think I oughta do something like that on my own blog.

I also really adore the picture you have as your banner. Makes me wish I was there. All that lovely white snow around the beautiful red barn.

Your friend Hanna sounds like a lovely person. She did a great job on her post, thing is, I can't have gluten either so I'm gonna be in that gluten free syrup line with her. Sadly, I'm not close enough to pull tatas with you but I surely would for some maple syrup! And just so you know, I bake cakes, too! ;)

Okay, I gave it my all! Hope you'll come and visit me! I'm #462 on the gypsy caravan...

I looked around your site and found your ideas on natural living very refreshing. I love that you make your own. My little one if five and never had an antibiotic. I enjoyed my tour & learned things too. We differ on political views- but I still dig the heck out of what you do.

Hi there,

Since you want a compliment, I took the time to scroll through a big part of your blog. I like how outspoken you are and I like what you said about your birthday and the presents you enjoy getting. I feel the same way about getting cards or greetings, only that lately I seem to be the only one always sending greetings and not even being acknowledged for that. I design the cards myself (if you have a minute, you might want to check out my digital artwork at my blog) and always take the time to write a few personal notes. It's often frustrating not to get any reaction -- just as if everyone is used to me being like that. Would they even notice if I stopped sending out greetings? Well, enough about all that -- I really liked what you said about your special gifts. I feel exactly the same way -- just little things from special people which bring back great memories.

Anyway, you have a great giveaway. If it's okay that I am from the other side of the world, please include me in the drawing. :)

Greetings from Munich,
Birgit

Hmmmm. Well I love that you live on a beautiful farm and know how to make your own maple syrup. And that you have precious kids.

I also love that you aren't afraid speak your mind and what you believe in. I love that you're not bamboozled by Obama most of all and that you understand what Socialism is and how dangerous it can be.

And I also like the country style and colors you choose for your blog. :)
And I hope you don't mind but I added you to my Favorites list :)

This home made maple syrup is such a fabulous give-a-way!

OH....MY....GOSH!! Free Stuff??? That's what you call it??? My dear, it is the Ambrosia of the Gods, and you are one amazing person to create it. I live in New England, and know of the arduous process of making pure maple syrup (they tap the trees at a farm nearby to me). I would be delighted beyond measure to win this delectable treat from you. I would treat it like a fine wine.

I don't know you at all (found you on OWOH), but love how passionate you are about your children, and their longterm health and well being.

I love seeing parents who educate themselves, and don't just follow along with what others are doing blindly. It's commendable :)

Oh, and I love that you make syrup! I'm from Michigan, living in Oregon, and we don't have maples around here, like 'back home'. I miss the locally grown and made maple syrup. Not much in the world is better!

Everybody seems to be saying that the homemade maple syrup brings back memories. Well, being from Idaho, we don't have homemade maple syrup. We hardly have real maple syrup at all.

I have already forgotten the ladies name, but I would marry anyone for that cake. I'm definately bookmaking your blog to come back when I have more time.
