Ramps are wild leeks that taste like a mix between garlic and onions. They grown in the woods. Want some? We have lots.
Recipe:
Fry cubed potatoes, celery, and ramps in bacon grease in a cast iron skillet till ramps are cooked.
Transfer to big pot. Add 3 tablespoons flour, seasonings you like, and 6 pieces of bacon chopped up. Add 2 cups half and half and 2 cups beef (or chicken) broth. Simmer till thickened to your liking.
For a meatier variation, add barbequed pork rib meat cut off the bone.

Cade is too darn cute!!! I love the curls! I need to go looking for some fawns in our woods...i have really never been too far into them??!! Love you!
I love the fawn. When they look like that, it is a little hard to think about them as a meal?! Thanks for the pics---Have a good weekend.
wow look at that tiny, incredible little fawn! so cute!! :)
That soup looks yummy! I love making soups. This weekend our ABF had a progressive dinner and I did the soup. I made a Maryland style soup which usually has crab meat in it, but I used tilapia instead. I thought it turned out pretty good. Love the fawn:)
Joce, it's nice to see pictures again! Cade does look adorable, I love making soup too...this weekend I made baked beans in my crock pot and they are yummy too. I wanted to ask if you were going on the camping trip this year with the fam? My girls are going I think and I thought I would make my first appearance this year maybe. Have a great week~Carol
