And, I had a really good walk with Bailey and God. The grass was sparkly with dew, and there was mist in the air and I could see my breath. I LOVE those kinds of mornings. So, I took my devotional book of hymns with me and meditated on the verse for today. And it's a good thing too, because I didn't quite get the first, oh, 20 times I read it. A lot of you who's and He who's and Him who's and such. I was like, who the heck are they talking about? But, God is faithful to bless those who read His word and I figured it out on my second loop.
The walk itself was a bit of a devotional today. The very first signs of the changing season were there. The seasons are all my favorite (except spring, really, it's kind of ugly). And when the next one starts to show up it makes me feel excited for the next thing that life is bringing me. Although it is always bittersweet because 'every new beginning is some other beginning's end.' But keep in mind that dark chocolate is considered bittersweet too and is quite enjoyable for those of us with an educated palate. Life is bringing me lots of new things.
Things like being the MOPS coordinator, and my LAST grad class!

How can you say Spring is ugly?! It's my favorite season... and it's when the flowers come up.
I can't believe you dropped lyrics from 'Closing Time' and discussed the enjoyment of bittersweet chocolate by those of us with an educated palate in adjacent sentences. It made my brain hiccup.
Spring that is March and most of April is ugly and dreary. Spring that is the end of April and May is beautiful. So if you mean that part, which probably do, since you mentioned flowers, is my favorite too. It's when I got married and also when I had my babies. And lilacs are my favorite flower.
So, maybe we should specify first spring and second spring the way hobbits have first breakfast and second breakfast. (A custom I have embraced whole-heartedly for years.)

Good morning, 7:15 am for me. I agree - the change of seasons are bittersweet. And I'm excited for you - you perservered, you were faithful, and thankful. And how cool is that when you FINALLY get what God is trying to say. It puts a smile on your face and a spring in your step! Love those moments, too! ;0)
Crocuses and snowdrops are the earliest bulbs that help spring be little less ugly. They excite me when I've had it with winter. I'm asking the Lord to help me see the miniature crocuses of my new season. They are there in plenty. But the daffodils...the big blooms, I haven't seen yet. They are coming.
